2025 CMBL Fall Ball Season Recap

As the leaves start to fall, so does the curtain on the CMBL Fall Ball season, one filled with clutch hits, tight finishes, and plenty of local baseball energy from both Wilmington and Jacksonville.

Regular Season Rundown

From opening week through October, players across both divisions battled it out under the Friday night lights and Sunday sun. Every game mattered, and as the dust settled, two teams emerged on top of their respective leagues.

In Wilmington, the River Ducks set the pace early and never looked back. Their consistency at the plate and depth on the mound carried them to the Wilmington Fall Championship, capping off an impressive campaign.

In Jacksonville, the Brew Crew powered their way through their schedule, using timely offense to secure the Jacksonville Fall Championship. Week after week, they found a way to win.

Suspense & Storylines

New Teams! 5 New Teams joined the CMBL this fall. The Port City Heat found instant success, going 5-2 in the fall, and are well-positioned for the spring. The Young Guns (East Duplin/West Pender Counties) and Southport Spartans (Oak Island/Brunswick County) increased the league’s footprint; both teams flashed glimpses of big-time talent that will make them instantly credible come March. Two teams, the Carolina Reapers (Wilmington) and the Safer Place Dinos (Jacksonville), started slowly but began to figure it out as the season progressed and will be ready to hit the ground running in 2026. We’re excited to welcome these teams to the CMBL!

The season wasn’t without drama — a few suspended games, some late rainouts, and tight finishes kept fans guessing right up until the final out. Every Sunday brought a new storyline, every week another reason to come back to the park.

Championship Showdown: Wilmington vs. Jacksonville

Just when everyone thought the season was over, the story took one more turn.

In true baseball fashion, the managers of the Ducks and Brew Crew agreed that this year’s bragging rights should be settled on the field. The two champions will meet for the 2025 CMBL Fall Championship, a nine-inning, winner-take-all matchup at Roland Grise on October 26th at 12 PM.

The Ducks. The Brew Crew. One final game to close out the fall.
