Cape Fear – River Ducks (Wilmington)

At the end of last season, representatives from two Wilmington teams, the Marlins and Rays, approached the league with a vision to take their respective teams and merge into one. Both teams featured strong core players but each found difficulties in retaining committed players to maintain a full roster. Merging the two was the perfect idea.
We are proud to introduce the Cape Fear River Ducks! With Ryan Perkins and Casey Shoonmaker running the show, this team is hungry for excellence. The Ducks will showcase one of the more talented rosters in the CMBL including sluggers Mike Barker, Chris Roan, and Jason Dunn. They also hit the recruiting trail hard this offseason adding some real depth to an already deep roster. One newcomer to watch will be pitcher Dylan Thompson. Early reports from offseason workouts suggest Thompson will be a problem for opposing lineups this year.
