Wilmington Pitcher of the Week

Austin Eubanks – NC Renegades

Despite limited action, Austin Eubanks was in command Sunday against the Reign. In four innings of work, the Renegades’ hurler racked up 10 strikeouts while allowing only 2 hits and 2 earned runs. Eubanks’ effort kept the Renegades in the game until their offense started pumping. In the end, the Renegades took home the victory 10-4.

Wilmington Hitter of the Week

Randy Torres – Eels

In an offensive explosion for the Eels against the Cardinals, Randy Torres stood out. The Eels’ speedster went 4-4 at the plate with a two-run homer in the first inning. Torres added an RBI single in the 5th and plated at 4th run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the sixth. To add to his impressive stat line, Torres also scored three times and snagged a stolen base. The Eels took the victory 19-4.

Jacksonville/Hampstead Pitcher of the Week

Josh Kellogg – Jacksonville Brew Crew

Josh Kellogg picked up where he left off on Opening Day with another terrific performance against the always dangerous Northern Lights in Hampstead. In 6 innings of work, Kellogg allowed only four hits and two earned runs while striking out 13. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Kellogg settled in and threw five straight scoreless frames, giving up only one hit over that span. Kellogg exited the game with a 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.

Jacksonville/Hampstead Hitter of the Week

Jason Dunn – Cape Fear River Ducks

Dunn powered the defending champion Ducks to an 11-5 victory over the Camp Lejeune WarDogs in Jacksonville on Sunday. The Duck sluggers’ awesome day began in the top of the first inning with a big double to plate the game’s first run. Dunn wasn’t done there. In his next at-bat, Dunn lined a rope into centerfield, driving two more Ducks home. In four total at-bats, Dunn collected four hits, three RBI, and one run scored.
