Wilmington Pitcher of the Week

Cam High – Cape Fear Flytraps

In what was an epic pitcher’s duel until late, Cam High prevailed as the Flytraps took down the Copperheads 8-2. High allowed only 2 hits, no runs, and picked up 11 strikeouts in 7 innings of work on his way to leading the Flytraps to a 3-0 start to the season.

Wilmington Hitter of the Week

Zack Licursi – Northern Lights

For the second time this season, a Licursi has won Wilmington Hitter of the Week with a two-home run performance. This week, it was big brother, Zack Licursi, displaying his power at Roland Grise. In four at-bats, Licursi sent two balls into the trees, picking up five RBI along the way as the Northern Lights rolled to a 26-2 win over the Reapers.

Jacksonville/Hampstead Pitcher of the Week

Gabe Alfonso – NC Renegades

For the second time in as many weeks, a Renegades starter delivers a fantastic performance. Right where teammate Austin Eubanks left off, Gabe Alfonso picked up. In 6 innings of work, the CMBL newcomer dealt, collecting nine strikeouts while allowing only two hits and earning the shutout victory over the Marlins 16-0.

Jacksonville/Hampstead Hitter of the Week

Denver Nixon – Jacksonville Brew Crew

One of the most powerful bats in the league was at it again on Sunday. In three plate appearances, Nixon drew a walk and launched two home runs in the Brew Crew’s 19-4 victory over the Cardinals. Nixon ended the day with 7 RBI in total, propelling him to the top of the early-season CMBL RBI leaderboard.
