An extra-innings thriller! After a 5-run 4th by the WarDogs and a late rally by the Cardinals, Sergei Swart’s walk-off double sealed it. JJ Tipton and Jeff Wilson powered the WarDog offense, while James Bowker pitched five clutch innings of relief. The Cardinals’ 15-hit effort fell just short.
Cape Fear River Ducks 8, Cape Fear Flytraps 2
The River Ducks dominated with a 12-hit showcase, led by manager Ryan Perkins (4 RBI) and Mike Barker (3 Hits, 2 Doubles). Patrick Krack went the distance on the mound, striking out 10 in a commanding win.
Our traditional Sunday schedule will be slim this weekend with Memorial Day on Monday. Just one game on the docket: Eels vs Ducks at 3 PM on Sunday at Trask MS in a makeup of a previously postponed game.
