Eels (Wilmington)
Fresh off of back-to-back CMBL Titles in 2023 and 2024, the Eels are looking for a three-peat in ’25. This team has proven time and time again that the road to the CMBL Championship goes through them.
As one of the league’s longest-running teams (previously known as the Engineers), the Eels have been there and done that. In total, the Eels/Engineers have climbed to the top of the CMBL mountain three times. They’ll be looking for a fourth this season.

Northern Lights (Wilmington)
The Northern Lights joined the CMBL in 2021 and have been dominant from the jump. In their first year, the Lights stormed to a regular season title and paired it with a tournament title. Every season, these guys find themselves at or near the top of the standings. It’s no coincidence. This team is the real deal.

Since joining the CMBL in 2014, the Flytraps have gone by other names (FLIGHT, Royals), but one thing has remained constant: the will to win. Over those eleven seasons in the CMBL, the Flytraps have been a constant threat at the top of league standings and have played in some of the greatest games in league history. This team is led by three 10+ year CMBL veterans and a core that has stayed intact since 2020.

Copperheads (Wilmington)
Previously known as the Barons and Pirates, the Copperheads are the CMBL’s longest-running franchise. As a member of the league since it’s inception, the Copperheads have seen it all. From the thrills of playoff success to the lows of poor seasons, there isn’t much the Copperheads haven’t done in the CMBL. After a few rough seasons and a managerial change, the Copperheads are on the climb back to the top of the CMBL. The Copperheads have improved vastly each season since 2023 and have established themselves as a team to watchout for in the 2025 playoffs.
Manager: Tanner Staley
Cape Fear River Ducks (Wilmington)
After the 2024 CMBL season, two Wilmington teams (Marlins and Rays) merged and became the River Ducks. Immediately, a new major threat to the CMBL crown was born. This team is dangerous and has proven it throughout the 2025 regular season. This team has one goal: to be the last one standing at the end of the playoffs.
Manager: Ryan Perkins
Carolina Cardinals (Jacksonville)
Of the four teams based in Jacksonville, the Cardinals have been a member of the CMBL the longest. First, they were the Pirates, then the Expos, now the Carolina Cardinals. Historically, the Cardinals have had a rough go in the CMBL, but with an influx of talent during the 2024 offseason, the Cardinals look tougher than ever in 2025 and ready to turn their luck around. They will be a tough out in the playoffs.
Manager: Travis Boyd
Jacksonville Brew Crew
After the 2022 season, another long-time Jacksonville team, the Indians/Reds, broke up. While some went to play with the newly formed WarDogs, Chris Walushka set out on a journey to form a new team of his own. With a core of loyal followers, the Stingers were born. A year later, they became the Brew Crew. Since then, the Brew Crew have played tough, fun baseball, and are a threat to win every time out.
Manager: Chris Walushka
NC Renegades (Wilmington)
Despite being the CMBL’s newest team, the Renegade family is no stranger to success. The club’s West Virginia Renegades are perennial powerhouses in the Mountain Valley baseball league that plays in the greater WV, VA, MD area. If there is anyone who knows the secret to success in a men’s league, it’s Leo Flores.
In most teams’ first seasons, growing pains are to be expected, but this team has a solid core to build on and should be making some noise come the playoffs.
Manager: Leo Flores
Carolina Bombers (Jacksonville)
After a rough first season in the CMBL, the Bulldogs decided to switch it up and rebrand to the Carolina Bombers for 2025. With a bevy of new players, it will be interesting to see how the new-look Bombers come together throughout a 14-game season.
Manager: Brian Parasconda
