Week 14 RECAP
Eels 6, WarDogs 3
Down go the Dogs. The WarDogs’ dreams of an undefeated season went up in flames at the hands of the defending champion Eels. Chase Patterson led the charge with a home run and a multi-hit game. Jake Kight added two doubles, and Shane McCumbee had three RBI. On the mound, Eels pitchers Cameron Guertin and Tyler Barnes held the WarDogs to three runs.
Renegades 21, Bombers 2
The Renegades notched their first win of the season Sunday against the Bombers. A discrepancy in scoring prevents us from giving the Renegades their due statistical credit, but it was a hit parade nonetheless for those guys.
Flytraps 17, Cardinals 5
The Flytraps took care of business in Jacksonville with a 17-5 rout of the Cardinals. Evin Eichelberger led the charge for the Traps, going 5-5 with a triple, 3 RBI, and 4 runs scored. Cam High launched the Flytraps’ first home run of the season, a grand slam in the 8th.
Ducks 3, Copperheads 1
In a pitcher’s duel between Zach Reed and Dylan Pierce, Pierce’s Ducks prevailed. A Ryan Perkins solo home run in the 7th capped off a two-hit, two-run day for the Ducks’ manager. Catcher Chris Roan also provided two hits and an RBI as the Ducks hold on to second place in the standings.
Northern Lights 18, Brew Crew 0
A four-hit performance from Blake Bond and three-hit efforts from Lee Murray, Zack Licursi (2 RBI), Justin Croom (3 RBI), and Kason Valentine (4 RBI) propel the Northern Lights to an easy win against the Brew Crew. The win keeps the Northern Lights in the top three in the standings.
