35+ WORLD SERIES — TOURNAMENT WRAP-UP
The first 35+ World Series trip in CMBL history is in the books.
The East Coast Enforcers finished pool play 1-4 and did not qualify for the tournament playoffs. It wasn’t the week we hoped for from a results standpoint, but there was still plenty to be proud of.
After a difficult first few days, this group stayed together and finished the tournament the right way, with a total team effort and a 10-9 win over the Winston-Salem Spirits.
And as it turned out, that win came against the eventual USAB 35+ World Series Champions.
That feels like a pretty fitting way to close the first chapter of CMBL 35+ tournament baseball.
This was the first time the Carolina Men’s Baseball League entered a team in the 35+ World Series. We went to Myrtle Beach to compete, learn what this level of tournament baseball looks like, and create another opportunity for players from around our league to take the field together.
We didn’t get the results we wanted, but we are extremely proud of the group that represented the CMBL and excited about where this can go from here.
This won’t be the last 35+ tournament.
